In this project, I mimicked John Heartfield's style from the Dada art movement to create an album cover. I took inspiration from his famous piece Krieg Und Leichen. Heartfield's art process was physical-- cutting out pieces from magazines and rearranging them in a collage to create new meaning, and then engraving that image on a roller to print a single, coherent piece. My process was mostly digital-- using Photoshop to cut out parts of different images and changing the color and grain of the image. Lastly, I printed and scanned the image multiple times until I achieved the effect of cohesiveness that Heartfield's work has.
